Shane Donahue - SD Creative
Shane is a professional visual artist and designer in stage event lighting and media creation. Primarily active in the Twin Cities working with local artists and corporate events, he's also a world touring professional with acts such as Jane's Addiction and Low.
He has over a decade worth of experience cutting his teeth as the house lighting technician at the most prestigious venues in the Twin Cities, such as: First Avenue, The Fillmore, Fine Line, Varsity, Palace Theater, and others. Shane has been on tour globally as L1 and V1 for indie rock heroes Low, and wowed arenas as the V1 for alternative rock superstars Jane's Addiction. He's also constantly working designing and running lighting/video with emerging local Minnesota talents such as Joe Rainey, and festivals such as Soundset, Twin Cities Pride, and Drone Not Drones. He has also directed, edited, produced, and shot the film "Low - HEY WHAT: The Visual Album" which was premiered at The Parkway Theater in 2022, and was available to watch exclusively on VHS. Shane's video style can be described as "controlled analog chaos", where his influence comes from the erratic medium of classic VCRs and CRTVs. Intentionally broken sights that are reconstructed to convey a narrative to perfectly fit whatever the music calls for. He is a professional user of the video software Resolume, and has a knack for Adobe Premiere. Lighting wise, Shane is comfortable programming and running GrandMA, Avolites, Chamsys, and Elation Onyx. |
